"Mahtigwess Tricks Wildcat"
This is a scene from a Mi'kmaq tale about how the Great Rabbit uses his magic to trick the Wildcat who wants to eat him.
Just like so many Metis tales (especially from the east), White man's religion seems to pop up as a great power. It always makes me wonder how the story evolved and who told it this way the first time. Either way, it goes to show how much impact the Jesuits have had.
